Traumatised...

So the other day I was disturbed by a picture doing the rounds on facebook.

A bomb victim. He'd lost both legs at the knee and all that remained was a broken long bone protruding from a flap of skin.

Like... seriously... I'll never ever get that image out of my head. What is wrong with the world that they think its ok to put this stuff out there now. When I was a kid the worst thing you'd see on the TV was an ambulance!

The pic is now being used by many news agencies but they have the decency to blur out the meat and broken bones.

And the man's father learned of his sons injuries when he saw the offending photo on facebook.

 WTF.

I feel better about seeing the disturbing images now that I've read a few articles about the man Jeff Bauman. He was there to see his girlfriend run in the marathon. Putting a name and a story to the face makes it real. He's no longer a piece of meat in a wheel chair.

I also have to come to terms with images like this as I'm about to study anatomy and physiology.

A friend of mine is a theatre nurse, I've asked her how she handles the blood and guts etc.... she said she loves it. I guess you'd have to!

So blogging died out. I'm just too busy. Business as usual. Study. Looking after the family.

Right now I'm learning about lipids. Sources, functions etc. Its fascinating.

I made another cover song. Maybe one day I'll actually record myself playing.

Almost half way through the school holidays. My eldest daughter is at her BD's (Bio-Dad or Big Dad). I hate it when she's gone.

I have caught up on orders so I'm concentrating on getting the house in order so I can study.

I recordered another song a few weeks ago. This is something someone requested many months ago and I've only just gotten around to doing it.

My partner is going away next week. Its his placement for his schooling. He's going to help out at a camp for disadvantages kids.
He's studying a diploma of community services and he wants to get into the field of helping older teenagers from going off the tracks completely. He's had some life experience in this area and given the fact that he's covered in tatt's and looks like a biker I think he'd be amazing at this kind of work. Only 1 more year of schooling left.

The big girls are at their Granny's house so it was nice to not be woken up by Miss 4, middle child who gets up at the crack of dawn.
Too bad the postie thinks its ok to come here before 8am...

But he was delivering text books for my Herbal Medicine Diploma so I forgave him.

Making the most of having no kids here and going to watch a zombie movie!
